The Princes Gate is a historical, boutique-style hotel in the centre of Rotorua. This classical 4-star hotel is opposite the Polynesian Spa and the famous Government Gardens.

The hotel has 52 stylish guestrooms and apartments, all decorated in a traditional and classical style. Each room is air-conditioned and beautifully furnished with luxurious en suite bathroom and a range of personal toiletries. The larger apartments offer a living area and kitchen facilities.

The Princes Gate Hotel, dates back to 1897 and is situated in the historical area of the city. The hotel is only 100-metres from the lakefront and city centre and is also within easy reach of the Convention Centre.

What was the highlight of Prince's Gate Hotel
Charm of and Time Lost
Location. Room apartment, 2 bedroom and a kitchenette fabulous . Very clean and confortable beds and crisp sheets. Use of Thermal pool.
Stayed here 5 yrs ago it was beautifully appointed, with well trained staff which was indicated in the room rate charged. Unfortunately, but now the building needs maintenance but staff were very friendly and helpful. Younger staff members however, need training on bar work. Our toilet in bathroom needs replacing very tired looking. We noted a transition change of hands to soon become a Copthorne Hotel. Parking fines are a problem if you are not aware and park outside front of hotel during the week.

What was the highlight of Prince's Gate Hotel
Comfortable beds and amazing food.
The food was incredible, the historical atmosphere was amazing, the swimming pool was good, and the localisation was perfect. The bed was very clean and comfortable.From your room, you can easily access the street and your car. There is a free parking at the back street.
The curtains weren't fixed properly. The power plugs and the lights weren't working correctly. The rooms are not soundproof, and you can hear everything in other rooms.

Perfect for our needs, though a bit overpriced.
Good location, bed was comfortable, parking convenient.
It is not a four star hotel, more like a high 3, though with the understanding that it is an independent hotel. While the room was renovated, the bathroom was not. Keep in mind that it is close to the sulpha spring so the smell can waft.

Very Good
Location, room, room size, pools, close to venue we were there for., plenty of parking.
Only one fan between two bedrooms, air con didn't reach to rooms. Very patchy wifi, just ended up using personal data. Biggest letdown was the on-site restaurant, so many things weren't available, my fiancee got charged $76 for a $46 total,, eventually got refunded, and the breakfast food wasn't topped up. Would not eat here again due to the poor service. The accommodation part is great, the restaurant is a hard avoid.
